COMMITTEES
Get involved by joining a committee!
Join a committee at any time of the year! Please contact the AAGM office.
AAGM could not exist without the help of its many member volunteers and the committees on which they serve. These committees depend on your participation and attendance to successfully meet their goals. Committee meetings are posted on the calendar.
Associates Council
The Associates Council represents a networking arena for the Supplier Members at every AAGM function. The Associates Council works in conjunction with the Membership Committee to recruit and retain members.
Community Involvement
Our association is proud to support The Dorothy Day House of Hospitality. This house provides temporary housing and support services for homeless families in Memphis. The Community Involvement Committee works to raise donations, promote events, and provide necessities for the home. The Committee meets periodically throughout the year as needed. If you would like to volunteer your services to the Dorothy Day House, please complete the online Volunteer Form. The House will call you as specific needs arise that match your abilities.
Diamond Achievement Awards
AAGM celebrates the Industry’s top professionals at the Annual Diamond Achievement Awards. We honor the Industry’s best with award categories such as Best Landscape, Outstanding Maintenance Team, Leasing Professional of the Year, and Property Manager of the Year. Over 500 members attend the annual event. The committee is responsible for planning and assisting with the all aspects of the awards banquet. This includes encouraging nomination submissions, promoting the event, and assisting the AAGM staff and committee chair with event responsibilities. The Committee meets once a month (or more if needed) starting in April and concludes with the event the following January.
Education
AAGM offers a variety of educational opportunities for members (see calendar of events). The Education Committee plans and executes educational programs by securing speakers, sponsors, and scheduling the educational calendar of events. Education is planned for the entire year so committee members should be prepared to meet several times during the year.
Golf Scramble
The Golf Scramble is one of the most enjoyable events that AAGM offers its members. It’s one of the best opportunities for corporate and property personnel, as well as suppliers, to become acquainted and to build valuable relationships while enjoying a relaxed, easy-going game of golf. This committee plans and assists with the annual Golf Scramble, including promoting team participation and volunteering the day of the event. The committee meets 4-5 times to plan the event.
Government Affairs
This committee monitors legislative issues affecting our industry and alerts the board and members to calls for action. A primary focus of the committee is to educate members about the political action committee and solicit for contributions for AAGM’s annual NAAPAC goal and organize a NAAPAC fundraiser. The Committee meets approximately 6 times throughout the year but more meetings could be called if legislative action is needed.
Membership
The Membership Committee's primary focus is member recruitment and retention. This includes planning membership recruitment events, visiting new members and keeping the current members involved in order to maintain our membership. The Committee meets once a month and visits new members each month.
Programs
Membership Meetings are held monthly (excluding January, June & July) with an average attendance of 100-110 people, and includes some of the key decision makers in the multifamily housing industry. Membership meetings provide an excellent venue for networking with other members, while keeping abreast of the most current information affecting the industry and association. The Programs committee secures the speakers and associate spotlight sponsors for each membership meeting. Committee meets regularly throughout the year.
Public Relations

Committee meets periodically throughout the year, based on event needs.
Special Events
The Special Events committee is responsible for planning events like Maintenance Appreciation, the Bus Tour, or other events identified by the Board. Committee meets periodically throughout the year, based on event needs.
Trade Show
The Trade Show continues as the largest, most significant event of the year. It provides supplier members with a prime opportunity to show off their products and services to those who need it most. The Trade Show committee assists in the selling of booths, promoting the annual show, assisting the committee chair and staff with event planning, and working the day of the Trade Show. The Committee meets at least once a month from March to July.
